Charles Stuckey

Charles was born in Snake Springs Valley where he remained until about 21 years of age, then moved to Napier Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. This area was then known as 'Stuckeyville' where his brothers Samuel and Daniel also lived. In 1846, he purchased a farm east of the 'Forks Inn' which as of the 1950s was still owned by his grandson, Charles A. Stuckey. Charles was said to have been an able farmer and shrewd businessman and was successful at moving grain by wagon to Wheeling, West Virginia returning with salt and molasses. Charles and his brother, Samuel, married sisters - Rebecca and Ann Silver

Simon Harrison Stuckey

Simon bought a farm in Walnut Grove, Illinois in 1857 and was quite successful raising Durham cattle and pigs.

His last years were spent in California.

Richard C. Stuckey

When he was twenty one, Richard moved from Bedford County,Pennsylvania to Illinois with a colony of settlers. He took up land in Walnut Grove Township. In Feb 1859, he married Mary Timmons and they had seven children.


William Alexander Stuckey

William married Lucy Reynolds and they had two children. Following Lucy's death in Altona, William married her cousin, Lucy Gay, and had two children. With his second family, he moved to Fairmont, Nebraska.

Charles Winfield Stuckey

Charles first married Rebecca Mullin, a sister of Eliza Mullin who married Samuel Clay Stuckey. When Rebecca died, Charles married Anna Barnes. Anna died of T.B. in 1902.

Of their seven children; Emily Rita born in 1890 died in her infancy.

Virginia Stuckey

Virginia married Captain Henry Sweet, a veteran of the Civil War. She was crippled for many years and they had no children. They lived in Chadron, Nebraska.
