I was the last American crew chief to be assigned to 694. Only had one major incident with the aircraft when I was flying. We went into a hot LZ and had the belly ripped open from the front cross tube to the aft cross tube up to the fuel cell. We must have hit a stump as there had been a lot of shelling the day before. I still thank God it didn't rupture. After stand down the aircraft was assigned to an ARVN unit.
